British Cinema

Is a film British if it is written by a Brit?
These three films are classed as British films. They include characters from the UK and they were all filmed within the UK. Most people will think that a movie is not British if it is not written or directed by someone British, but thas not the case. I personally think that you don't have to be British to write or direct a British film, If an writer or director have experience the living in Britain for some time it doesn't prevent the making of the film becoming typically British. For example, one of the movies I chose 'Bend it like Beckham' was written and also directed by Gurinder Chadha who was born in Kenya and grew up in London, she also directed other British films such as 'Angus things and perfect snogging'. To continue, In movies such as 'A fish called wanda' they involve British actors/actresses also collaborating with British actors/actresses, British movies doesn't necessarily mean that the actors or actresses have to be British.
